

Oscar Garcia
Oscar Garcia is a serial entrepreneur and business leader with over 20 years of experience in the life sciences sector. He has held key roles at industry leaders including Abbott Laboratories and Covidien (now Medtronic), and has been part of several medical device start-up companies, including a vascular robotic company that achieved an acquisition exit of $1.1 billion. Oscar is the founder of GD Partners, a venture capital firm, and QES Medical, a consulting firm specializing in fostering innovation and maximizing value within the life sciences industry. Through his Boston-based VC firm GD Partners, Oscar and his team focus on identifying and supporting high-potential early-stage life science companies that are transforming healthcare through innovative medical devices and related products.
In addition to his core focus in life sciences, Oscar leads strategic initiatives aligned with his broader mission to advance healthcare and sustainability. These include a 100 MW clean energy project developing solar farms across the Dominican Republic and the U.S., and the launch of GD Dental Group, an emerging network of dental offices in the New England region. Oscar is deeply involved in the academic venture ecosystem, currently serving as a Member of the Selection Committee at Harvard Business School Angels of Boston and the Harvard New Venture Competition, as well as a Member of the Mentor Network in Stanford University’s Emergence Student Accelerator Program. Oscar comes from a prominent multigenerational family, one of the major cacao producers in the Dominican Republic, with a legacy spanning over seven decades as a key player in the country’s agricultural sector. Alongside more than 20 years in the life sciences sector in the U.S., Oscar remains deeply connected to his family’s cacao business. Oscar holds an Industrial Engineering degree from INTEC University, a Graduate Certificate in Business from Salem State University, an Executive Education Certificate in Family Office Wealth Management from Harvard Business School, an Executive Education Certificate in Private Equity and Venture Capital from Harvard Business School, and an Alternative Investments Certificate from Harvard Business School.
